Cards, cards & more cards

The kids have been at my Mum's house for the last week so that's given me more time to play around with all my stamp sets. Finally, I've been able to gather together all my ideas & inspirations and make some cards.

The 1st one I'm going to show you uses the Asian Artistry (level 2 hostess Autumn-Winter Mini) stamp set.
The reeds and dragonfly are stamped onto a Rich Razzleberry card base using VersaMark (R) ink. The greeting was stamped using Craft Whisper White ink. The main flower image was stamped using Craft Whisper White ink onto Basic Black cs then I used the Stampin' Pastels to create the chalked image. I then adhered the Basic Black cs onto Whisper White & Old Olive cs and then they were all adhered onto the Rich Razzleberry card base. Too easy!

The next card uses the Vintage Vogue stamp set, also from the Autumn-Winter Mini.
I sponged Chocolate Chip ink (maybe a bit too heavily in some spots!) onto Very Vanilla cs. The vine was then stamped around the top, left & bottom edges using Old Olive ink. The outside egde of the Very Vanilla cs was also sponged with Old Olive ink. Then using Rose Red & Pretty In Pink ink I "stamped off" the large & small flower. The Friends image was stamped twice - once onto the Very Vanilla cs then again onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cs. I cut out the F image from the scrap piece (minus the wording) then using dimensionals I stuck it on top of the other stamped Friends image. Finally, I applied Crystal Effects all over the F and left it to dry :)

This card I made using the Big Bold Birthday stamp set which is on sale this month for only $43.16 - 20% off! It's such a great set for boys & girls cards. Get it while you can because it is going to be retired when the new catalogue is launched!
I've only used two colours on this card - Rose Red & Whisper White. The card base has been embossed using the Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions folder in the Big Shot. The cupcake, candles and greeting have been stamped onto Whisper White cs using Ruby Red ink, then cut out. The designer series paper on the bottom of the card is Raspberry Tart. I used the scallop edge punch to make the scallop edging, Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon and silver brads.

Lucky last for today - I've used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set for this card. Lovely as a Tree is such a great set for men's cards. This card could be used for Father's Day or a birthday...anything really. All you would have to do is change the greeting. I'm really happy with the result!
The card stock used is Whisper White & Basic Black. The greeting is from the Basic Phrases stamp set. I used the Big Shot to make the tag for the greeting using the Stampin' Up! Lots of Tags die (Autumn-Winter Mini) and the Designer Series Paper is Urban Oasis. Other than that, the only other accessories used were Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon and silver brads. Next time I make this card I'll try using black ribbon...it would probably look even better!

Until next time,
Megan :)

Boys Card

Last weekend my son went to a 5th birthday party for Thomas, one of his kinder friends. This is the card I made him. The colours looked great - very bright...and it was really easy to make. I used the Big Bold Birthday stamp set.  The dots were stamped onto the Green Galore cs using Versa Mark tm. The Brilliant Blue cs was torn at the bottom then I stamped the presents onto Whisper White cs using Billiant Blue & Green Galore ink. I stamped the middle present again onto another piece of cs & cut it out. Then using Dimensionals I stuck it on top then just added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the bows for a bit of sparkle!

My 1st Workshop

Last Friday night I had my very first Stampin' Up! workshop!
A BIG Thank You to Tammy who was my Hostess.
The ladies made 4 cards and everyone had a really good time, which is great. Most of the ladies are experienced scrapbookers/stampers so we had a mixture of cards that would challenge them & introduce new techniques.
I am pleased with how it all went. We finished up about 1am!, but it was worth it. Tammy was able to get some lovely hostess goodies and some free merchandise!

Here's a list of the products we used:
Stamp Sets: Big Bold Birthday, Lovely as a Tree, Cottage Wall, Priceless, Best Yet.
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Chocoloate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Rich Razzleberry.
Card: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, Urban Oasis & Cottage Wall  DSP, Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red.
Accessories: Chocolate Chip & Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon, Clear Brads, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter VersaMark Pad (R). I think that's it!
